Absolutely. The regulations state to not fly above 400ft, to not fly over or near people without their consent, to have visual contact with your drone at all times, and to not fly under the use of drugs or alcohol. All of those rules are really easy to abide by.
As for registering, I have not registered by drone yet. Though, per the FAA regulation rules, since I’ve owned my drone before December 21st, I’m not required to register til Feb 19th 2016. I’ll register at that time, and my only reason for waiting is that I think the rules and regulations will change by February, so there is no sense signing up now if I’m just going to have to do it again in a couple months.
But the punishments for not registering your UAV within the allotted time are quite severe. I’m not interested in getting the jailtime or fines associated with flying an unregistered drone.
