“One one thousand…two one thousand…three one-” BOOOOM
“Bloody hellfire!” Colin roared as he twisted the dials on the side of the PK Meter. “Over 9000 on the psionic index!!”
“Ja, he’s definitely getting better with ze hammer!” Klaus yelled over the continuing crashes of thunder. He slung his large crucifix over his back and tapped his earpiece “Should ve fall back Control?”
“Negative. Continue the mission Strike 1. Contain the hostile at all costs”
The world went momentarily white as a another flash of lightning lit up the sky, silhouetting Natalie as she dived over the barricade and rolled to a neat stop. Parts of her tight bodysuit were smouldering gently.
“Good news and bad news boys! The good news is the shock suits will stop a glancing blow from the lightning. The bad news is that I just saw him turn a car into vapour with a direct hit. Suggestions?”
Rina was reading frantically from every source of mythology she could find, fed into her eyepiece by the researchers in the control room. “It’s the belt!!” she squeaked over the rolling thunder. “Take off the belt he’s wearing and he won’t be able to lift the hammer!! EEEK!” she dived for cover as sparks exploded out of the street lamps.
“Oh nice and easy then! Walk up and pants someone with the power of a demigod! FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!!” Colin risked a peek over the barricade and flattened himself as a bolt melted part of the concrete.
“Ok, Klaus, slow him down with some hocus pocus. Nat, get behind him. I did not jet halfway across the world to get crispy fried by some angsty brat with anger issues!”
Someone has opened the Armoury of the Planes and sent dozens of celestial artifacts to Earth. Can you contain the chaos or will the world end in fire?
Modern Systems: GURPS, FATE, Savage Worlds, any other modern setting.
* The players are part of a much larger organisation, trying to contain these godly artifacts. Choose locations and artefacts to hunt, which range from the powerful to tricky to the downright sinister. The choices you make affect what artefacts are recovered, what groups become more powerful and which ones are destroyed. Optionally allow for magic, psionics etc for a more fantastical game or restrict your players to their wits and a trusty firearm.
* The players themselves are recipients of some of the artefacts and its turning into a demigod death-match out there! Go toe to toe with the new avatars of various demigods like Thor, Poseidon, Anansi and more! Everything from new cults brainwashing towns to city-destroying rampages is fair game!
* The players wake up on Earth, mortal and powerless, which is pretty distressing for a god. Race to reclaim your divinity before someone else does!
