Are you going to visit as a tourist? There’s a lot of great places to go if you are into adventuring. Hiking in Ticino is spectacular, and mountains around Lugano such as San Salvatore and Mont Bre have great views and can be hiked in hours. There’s also watersports on the lake, like paddle boating or windsurfing. If you’re willing to travel a bit, there’s some cool castles in Bellinzona, and a quaint little swimming hole called Valley Verzasca that is also near a bungee jumping spot. About 20-25 minutes from the city center is Monte Tamaro, which is like a very small amusement park on a mountain, with a zip line, alpine, mountain biking, high ropes course and Swiss cows. The mountain itself is also a great hike, make sure to visit the hutte at the summit. And if you want to take some day or weekend trips, Lugano is in a pretty good spot. During my time living here, I’ve taken weekends in Zurich, Luzern, Verona, Venice, Nice and high in the Alps on a hiking trip. I hope you have a great time, you can always message me with any other questions!
